About
Hi! I’m Alex - a raver, dancer, booker, DJ, and community builder based in Brooklyn, NY where I reside with my dog Moose. I live and breathe music more weekends than not. Previous to this, I spent six years in San Francisco, where I founded Noctuary SF, an event and workshop series geared towards women & gender marginalized people. I’ve been involved in dance music since 2014, and have been involved in an exhaustive list of areas within the industry: attendee, booker, mentor, blogger, volunteer, DJ, harm reduction volunteer, social media manager, and festival stage manager, among many more.

Beyond being a dancer first and foremost: I am a connector of people. Nothing gives me more joy than helping build connections that lead to friendship, community, bookings, creative partnership, and events, and I have an extensive network to draw from to do so. On the other side of this - I’ve made mistakes and also know what major and minor pitfalls to avoid. I have also noticed significant opacity around booking, compensation, A&R, creating press kits, and more. This lack of clarity particularly impacts upcoming talent of non-white people, queer, and femme identities, and I revel in correcting the balance wherever I can. Verdant Foundry is an extension and formalizing of the guidance I’ve been providing friends for years.
